British Sound, Bold Performance: Rega, Chord & ProAc Turn Heads at AXPONA

At this year’s AXPONA, The Sound Organisation showcased the best of British audio with standout systems from Rega Research, Chord Electronics, and ProAc. Each brand brought new innovations that caught the attention of audiophiles and press alike.

Rega debuted the Planar 3 RS Edition turntable, featuring a stiffer aluminum-skinned plinth and precision-tuned motor control. It was paired with the new ND5 moving-magnet cartridge, which delivered an energetic, full-bodied performance. Also previewed were prototypes of Rega’s upcoming Mercury preamplifier and Solis power amplifier, both promising sleek design, balanced circuitry, and powerful, musical sound.

Chord Electronics introduced the Suzi, a compact yet powerful modular amplifier designed to pair seamlessly with components like the Suzi Pre, Hugo 2 DAC, and 2go streamer. Whether configured as a standalone amp, DAC/amp combo, or streaming amplifier, Suzi offers flexibility without compromising performance.

ProAc’s K3 speakers rounded out the system with their signature ribbon tweeter and Kevlar-cone drivers, delivering depth, detail, and rich musicality.

The setup was completed with Chord Company cables, ensuring every signal path performed at its best.
